Bhanu Prakash Rawat

Bhanu Prakash Rawat has nearly 37 years of professional experience and superannuated from the Geological Survey of India as Director (Geology). His expertise covers detailed geological and foundation mapping, Quaternary and hard-rock geology, subsurface exploration, core drilling and logging, interpretation of geophysical investigations and geotechnical investigations from identification/PFR and feasibility through DPR, construction and post-construction stages. He has undertaken geological and geotechnical assessment of dams, hydropower and irrigation projects, underground powerhouses, transformer halls, HRT/TRT and other underground structures. His work includes 3-D geological mapping, RMR/Q-value assessment, slope-failure and landslide investigations, and engineering recommendations for rock bolts, anchors, shotcrete, steel ribs, drainage and grouting. He also served as Resident Geologist for the 1200 MW Punatsangchhu-I Hydroelectric Project in Bhutan.
